ISDA chief stresses ‘vital’ importance of keeping markets open

ISDA chief executive Scott O’Malia on Monday stressed the importance of keeping markets open despite concerns about the spread of Covid-19.

With the coronavirus causing huge changes to the operations of financial markets, some participants have floated the idea of temporarily closing exchanges. While all the main derivatives exchanges have shut their open outcry pits they have moved trading activity to electronic platforms.
