Fitch joins ESG caravan with relevance scores

Fitch Ratings has remedied its long lack of a visible response to the rise of environmental, social and governance investing by launching a set of ESG relevance scores.

They initially cover 1,500 companies, but will be rolled out across all entities Fitch rates, from banks to governments and eventually structured finance. They are designed to show how Fitch has taken account of ESG issues when assigning its credit ratings.
