ESMA hurries regulators on improving data supervision

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has called for improvement in national regulators’ supervision of derivatives data.

The request came as ESMA published the results of a peer review it conducted into the supervisory actions of six national competent authorities (NCAs) that focused on their approaches to enhancing the quality of derivatives data reported under the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR).
