EU working to Brexit deadline for CCP relocation

The European Parliament and European Union member states are holding talks on a set of EMIR amendments that would, in advance of Brexit, firm up European powers to relocate clearing houses (CCPs) of systemic importance for the euro.

The goal of both institutions is to reach an agreement before the UK leaves the EU. This would allow the EU to begin ordering the relocation of London-based CCPs

“Talks are progressing well, and an agreement by March 29 (Brexit day) seems possible,” said a Brussels-based lobbyist following the file.
