Shorters' ire continues as France extends ban

European short sellers were dealt another blow on Wednesday as the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) decided to extend its ban on short selling.

Market regulators for Spain, Italy, Belgium and France have all introduced bans on short selling since the spread of Covid-19 hit markets. The AMF cited the need to protect market confidence when it extended the ban this week.
