The Americas Derivatives Awards is the premier event to showcase achievements and network with participants active in the OTC, cleared and listed derivatives markets. At the most recent GlobalCapital Derivatives awards event, a significant percentage of attendees were from buyside firms across asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds, insurance companies, among others. Buyside attendance is likely to increase at the 2015 Americas Derivatives Awards.
No other event in the derivatives market offers a platform for such a diverse range of market participants to network, discuss current market developments and to celebrate the contribution the derivatives market has had on the global economy over the last year and beyond.
The Process & Deciding The Winners
From March 4, 2015 to March 20, 2015, the GlobalCapital team will survey senior buyside derivatives users via a poll to determine a shortlist of nominees for this year’s sellside, electronic trading, clearing and exchange award categories. Meanwhile, we will poll senior sellside officials to determine the buyside and interdealer broker award categories.
Following the conclusion of the poll and the generation of the shortlists, members of the GlobalCapital editorial team will come in to meet the nominees from March 21, 2015 to April 3, 2015 to learn about their performance over the last year, and to cover areas such as product development, flow performance and derivatives expertise, depending on the award category.
The winners of the award categories will be decided by GlobalCapital’s editorial board. Winners are not chosen based on the sheer volume of industry support, but rather on a number of factors including innovation, market impact, performance, client feedback and uniqueness of approach.
There are also four award categories that relate to the performance and contribution individual participants have had on the derivatives market over the last 12 months. Those categories are: Pension Fund Manager Of The Year, Corporate Treasurer Of The Year, Americas Lawyer Of The Year and Insurance Risk Manager Of The Year. Financial market participants were invited to vote for an individual in each different category based upon their expertise and contribution to the derivatives market over the last 12 months. The individual with the most votes will be recognised with the award in their respective category. The voting for these four awards will continue to Friday, April 3, 2015.
