Yankees storm dollar barricades

Yankee issuers stormed into the US dollar market to lock in record low levels of funding, despite this week’s turmoil in Washington, DC.

With US banks in earnings blackouts, January is traditionally a month for Yankee issuers to take centre stage, and they did not disappoint as eight foreign issuers took home more than $13bn in the first three days of the week, according to Dealogic.
