Germany’s climate ambition for EU unclear

The coming months are crucial in determining how ambitious the European Union will be in decarbonising its economy to fight climate change over the next decade.

Germany will play a vital role: it takes over the presidency of the EU Council of member states on July 2. Its government approved its priorities for the six month stint at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
