EU member states return to draft CCP resolution scheme

Representatives of the European Union’s 28 member states have resumed talks on a clearing house (CCP) resolution, with a view to reach an agreement by the end of the year.

The draft plan, which was originally unveiled in November 2016, aims to prevent disorganised failures of clearing houses. It obliges each CCP to draft a detailed resolution plan with a predefined set of tools, under the supervision of national authorities.
