Strong markets encourage banks to press on with deals

Activity in the financial institutions bond market has picked up this week after a long pause in euro supply. Danske Bank and Belfius Bank were among the names looking to capitalise on the improving market conditions on Wednesday.

Banks have been encouraged to enter the market across a range of asset classes following the summer break, with deals so far coming from BNP ParibasCommerzbank and Intesa Sanpaolo.

The momentum built further on Wednesday, as issuers offered investors the chance to buy into new senior and subordinated transactions.
