Merrill Lynch has beefed up its Asian equity structures marketing team with two hires by Abhinav Gorawara, managing director of equity structured solutions in Hong Kong. Sang Jin Lee joins has joined as v.p. of equity derivatives marketing from Deutsche Bank. Jason Lee also joins as a director in private banking sales from ABN AMRO, where he was a director in the private investor products group. Both are now based in Hong Kong. Gorawara noted they are both part of a regional equity expansion, which he was brought in to supervise in May 2005.
Sang Jin Lee was traveling and could not be reached. Jason Lee declined to comment. Jason Collins, spokesman at Deutsche Bank, did not respond to questions regarding replacements by press time.
Hui Yuk Min, spokeswoman at ABN, said Jason Lee's duties have been reassigned to other colleagues, but declined to say whether he would eventually be replaced.
