World Bank front-loads Unicef funding via MTN

The World Bank and the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) have partnered up for a new privately placed deal to front-load funding to the agency — the first time the World Bank has partnered with a UN agency in this way.

The World Bank issued the $100m 1.291% March 2026 capital-at-risk note through Citi at par. Although the trade was run on February 25, it was not made public until Thursday.

The supranational will use half of the proceeds, with the rest distributed to Unicef to front-load monthly ...
