DTCC to help SEB with post-trade as SFTR compliance costs mount

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corp has agreed a deal to provide post-trade infrastructure services to enable SEB, the Swedish banking group, to meet its obligations under the Securities Financing Transactions Regulation.

The EU’s SFTR rules are intended to boost transparency around the use of repos and stock loans, as well as more closely controlling collateral risk for derivatives transactions. SFTR is expected to apply from April 2020.
