DFIs fund Serbia's biggest wind farm

Development finance institutions the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and International Finance Corp have lent €215m to Vetroelektrane Balkana (WEBG) to develop Čibuk 1, the largest wind farm in Serbia and the western Balkans.

The €300m farm, which will produce 158MW of energy, is due to be operational in the first half of 2019.

WEBG is owned by Tesla Wind, a joint venture 60% owned by Abu Dhabi renewable energy company Masdar and 40% by Čibuk Wind Holding, a subsidiary of the US ...
