ABN AMRO has hired Mike Gordon, credit derivatives trader at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in Singapore, for a similar role on its desk in the Lion City. This follows Gordon's recent relocation to Singapore from Tokyo to boost the German bank's presence for the non-Japan Asian markets (DW, 3/14).
Gordon is a five-year veteran of the Asian credit market and responsible for establishing a credit desk for Enron Credit (DW, 6/4/01). Before that he was a trader at Rabobank in Tokyo.
Simon Johnson, head of credit trading at ABN in Singapore, declined all comment. At Dresdner, Gordon reported to Leon Emes, head of credit trading in Singapore. Emes did not return calls.
