Commerzbank has hired Edwin Bernard, head of equity derivative product structuring at ING Wholesale Banking in Singapore, in a new senior role. He joins the German firm's Hong Kong office next month to oversee equity structuring in the region, according to firm officials. Bernard previously had stints at ING in both Asia and Europe (DW, 6/9). He could not be reached for comment on the move. Commerzbank has been expanding its capabilities this year out of its Hong Kong hub, with hires in credit, equities and commodities, spearheaded by Ian Soso, head of markets in Hong Kong (DW, 2/24). Soso was traveling and could not be contacted by press time.
