Loan Ranger received a rather, er... intriguing evening invitation from one leveraged finance banker this week. “Dinner could be okay however I need to know if your side will be offended by my love of contemporary dance (aka the Soho Ballet),” it read.

Given the undoubted upstanding character of said banker, the apparent euphemism initially confused us. Alas, our suspicions were confirmed. The "contemporary dance" venue shares its name with Delboy Trotter’s favourite pub, and for Soho read Whitechapel.

By all accounts the venue is a favourite hole of the LevFin ...
