Euro FIG spreads widen despite low supply volumes

Bank bond spreads widened on the back of negative sentiment this week, but a handful of lenders were still able to take advantage of a constructive backdrop in the new issue market.

Deal arrangers predicted that trading conditions would improve for FIG issuers this week, amid a lack of new supply during earnings season.

Instead, recent transactions are underperforming in the secondary market, as investors are adopting more bearish positions.
