Unédic’s funding needs to rise by ‘at least a few billion’

Unédic, the French unemployment agency, will have a substantially bigger funding programme for 2020 in response to the coronavirus pandemic, according to its chief financial officer, Jun Dumolard.

“It’s going to be significant, at least a few billion more,” Unédic’s Jun Dumolard told GlobalCapital. “We’re currently shuffling through the numbers and will be publishing the official figures soon.”

Unédic has not decided whether the extra funding will be in guaranteed or non-guaranteed format.
