Italy eyes green debut in 2020

Italy is planning to issue its inaugural green bond in the second half of 2020, joining Germany and Sweden, who are also looking to sell their debut bonds in the format next year.

“We are starting the preparatory work that will be long and complex,” Davide Iacovoni, director general, public debt at the Italian Treasury, told GlobalCapital. “So this is why we may be in the market in the second half of 2020.”
