EU members near end of three year CCP resolution slog

After more than three years of negotiations, European Union ambassadors are aiming to approve, at a technical level, a CCP resolution deal on Wednesday, opening the way for final negotiations with the European Parliament.

EU states’ representatives are expected to agree on draft regulation to tackle the failure of central counterparty clearing houses (CCPs). The plan aims to complete a financial regulation framework set up after the financial crisis, by making sure that clearing houses can cope with major economic shocks.
