Euronext out on top in Oslo Børs acquisition battle

Euronext has received approval from Norway’s authorities for its takeover of exchange group Oslo Børs, ending months of uncertainty and a full-blown takeover battle with rival Nasdaq.

The country’s Ministry of Finance said it was approving the applications of both Euronext and Nasdaq to acquire Oslo Børs. However, its decision ends the takeover battle between the two rivals, as Euronext already has control of more than 50% of the shares in Oslo Børs.
