HSBC picks Elhedery as head of global markets

Georges Elhedery will be moving from Dubai to London in order to take up a new role as head of global markets at HSBC. He replaces Thibaut de Roux, who reportedly left in September after an accusation of inappropriate conduct.

Elhedery is based in Dubai as HSBC Group’s chief executive of the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey region, and deputy chair of HSBC Bank Middle East.

He will start in the new role in London from March 15, subject to regulatory approval.
