Andrew Bieler, managing director and head of program trading for the U.S. at Goldman Sachs in New York, has resigned. Reasons for the resignation could not be ascertained and Bieler could not be reached.
Bieler is serving out his gardening leave and is not yet thought to have signed up to a competitor, according to one official familiar with the situation. Ed Canaday, spokesman in New York, declined to comment.
