Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein has moved its Tokyo-based Asia ex-Japan credit derivatives trading operation to Singapore as part of an on-going effort to build its capital markets presence in the Lion City (DW, 9/22). As part of the effort Dresdner has transferred Mike Gordon, credit derivatives trader in Tokyo, to Singapore. Reached in Tokyo, Gordon, a five-year veteran in the Japanese credit market and an ex-Enron Credit manager (DW, 1/13/02), declined all comment.
Dresdner also recently transferred Stephen Patterson, credit derivatives structurer in New York, to Singapore. Andreas Ruschkowski, head of capital markets in Singapore, did not respond to voicemail messages.
Nuala Connolly, spokeswoman in Tokyo, declined to comment on the new trading desk but noted that Dresdner is building its presence in the credit market. At the onset of the year the bank hired T.J. Cheng, credit trader at Westdeutsche Landesbank in Tokyo, for its Japanese desk. <
