Citi Hires U.K. Retail Structured Products Staffer

Citigroup has hired Russell Catley, head of retail sales at AXA Investment Managers in London, in a new position as head of U.K. retail within the equity derivatives structured product group.

Citigroup has hired Russell Catley, head of retail sales at AXA Investment Managers in London, in a new position as head of U.K. retail within the equity derivatives structured product group. Catley will report to Al Plattner, head of European structured sales at Citigroup in London. Catley has been involved in the U.K. retail market since 1984.

"Our approach is becoming much more that of a full-service provider," noted Plattner, commenting on the expansion of the structured product group at Citi. The bank is likely to roll out more products under its own brand in the U.K., as well as continuing to work with institutions and distributors.

Simon Ellis, head of retail and AXA MultiManager in London, is currently overseeing Catley's former role and is looking to replace him, according to Sam Yuide, spokeswoman for AXA in London.
