With large scale anti-austerity protests turning violent in Madrid this week, the debate about the future of Spanish sovereign funding and the country’s market access intensified. Although bond market participants are adamant — despite much of the noise from the country’s government itself — that Spain will take a bail-out, there is complete discord as to when this might be and what form it might take.
