Carlyle hires leveraged products head

Private equity firm Carlyle Group has hired Michael Petrick, the former global head of institutional sales and trading at Morgan Stanley, as its global head of credit alternatives and capital markets — a new position.

He will be based in New York and start the new role in late March. He will become a member of Carlyle’s operating
committee.

Petrick will be responsible for the group’s leveraged finance, mezzanine and distressed debt teams, covering 24 funds with $19bn of assets.
