Generali warns of EU recovery fund delays

Hopes for a rapid European economic recovery are pinned in large part on the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility, but Italian insurer Generali is concerned that the plan is already behind schedule.

The facility will provide €312.5bn of grants and €360bn of loans to EU members. Funding is supposed to begin in the summer, with the first disbursements targeted for the third quarter. However, Generali sees a risk “that the RRF payments will be delayed”.
