Spanish, UK bank deal-making heats up

The banking landscape in Spain and the UK is set to change, amid pressure on banks' profitability, after a flurry of announcements this week.

On Monday, BBVA announced the sale of its US subsidiary to PNC for €9.7bn, and then said it was talking with Banco de Sabadell about a merger.
