Equities rise on Fed talk as investors price in rate cut

Equity investors are priming themselves for the US Federal Reserve to cut the Federal Funds Rate after dovish comments from the Fed’s chairman, Jerome Powell.

On Tuesday, Powell said that the Federal Open Market Committee would respond “as appropriate” to trade war risk in order to sustain US economic expansion with a strong labour market and inflation close to 2%.
