Keefe, Bruyette & Woods is looking to add an investment-grade corporate bond trader and several salesmen for its offices in New York and elsewhere. Craig Coats, co-head of fixed income at KBW, says the initiative is part of a general expansion to grow the firm's investment-grade business. He adds that it is a good time to find talented people in the wake of the consolidation wave occurring at many firms.
The firm recently hired Tom Voorhees as an investment-grade trader. He started at KBW earlier this month in a new role and trades banks, finance and insurance credits and reports to Coats. Voorhees spent about a year as a trader at ABN AMRO where he reported to Paul Zawierka, head of U.S. credit trading. He did not return calls by press time and a trader at the firm notes Voorhees' position remains open. Prior to working at ABN AMRO, Voorhees worked at Barclays Capital for about five years.
