Commerzbank recently hired K.P. Lee, equity derivatives marketer at SG Corporate & Investment Banking in Hong Kong. Lee joins as a manager based in Hong Kong, covering the Korean market, according to officials familiar with the move. He now reports to Ian Soso, head of markets in Hong Kong, who did not reply to messages by press time. Lee, who also had a stint at Barclays Capital prior to SG (DW, 9/9/02), was traveling and could not be reached.
Soso is overseeing a renewed Commerz push in Asia out of its Hong Kong hub, with plans to build up this year in equity, credit and commodities after the firm closed its derivatives business in Japan at the start of last year (DW, 12/2). Lavin Chan, spokeswoman at SG, did not return messages.
