ABN AMRO has appointed Matthew Wong, Asian head of trading in Hong Kong, to head the private investor products group, according to Hui Yuk Min, spokeswoman. Wong, who will transfer next month, joined ABN last year from Fortis Bank (DW, 5/13) to run the equity derivatives trading business and previously worked at the firm from 1997 to 2000. The private investor products group focuses on cross-asset class structures targeted to the regional retail customer base.
Wong replaces Rupertus Rothenhaeuser, head of the private investor group in Hong Kong, who joined DWS Investments in Frankfurt at the end of last year (DW, 11/4). Hui said responsibility for the equity derivatives desk will be assumed by David Roberts, head of equities in Hong Kong, while a replacement is determined.
