Bernanke Blasts Swaps Desks Spins

Ben Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve, said the proposal by Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) requiring commercial banks to spin off their swaps desks “would weaken both financial stability and strong prudential regulation of derivative activities.”
