Alliance Capital Management is looking to increase its global bond effort by hiring roughly three portfolio managers and three research analysts for offices in London and Tokyo. Andy Aran, senior v.p. and investment-grade portfolio manager, says the firm has expanded its business in Canada, Europe and Japan over the last couple years and employs approximately 60 portfolio managers and a like amount of research analysts across the globe, with the majority located in New York. Doug Peebles, head of global fixed income, says the global group is focusing on increasing its resources in its offices outside the U.S. "We think that is where a good growth area for us will be as aggregate-style investing becomes popular outside the U.S.," he explains. He predicts aggregate-style investing and global credit investing will be the two driving forces of global fixed income in the future.
