JPMorgan is restructuring its Hong Kong dollar rates business and has hired Medes Ma, credit trading manager at Crédit Agricole Indosuez in Hong Kong, for the effort. Aaron Poon, Hong Kong head of rates trading, said Ma, who left CAI earlier this month (DW, 3/14), is assuming Hong Kong rates trader Goliath Lau's position, who is now specializing in interest rate options. "There's still a lot of potential growth on the structuring side for products embedded with interest rate options," said Poon.

Ma, who rejoins JPMorgan's rate team after stints at CAI and HSBC (DW, 4/30/01), starts in the coming weeks and could not be reached.
