Vix trading extension to drive Vstoxx liquidity

The move by the Chicago Board Options Exchange to extend trading in Vix futures to 24 hours will drive greater liquidity in the Vstoxx as investors look to participate in spread strategies between both underlyings, according to traders.

Trading in Vix futures now runs from Sunday at 5:00pm CST to Friday at 3:15pm CST. CBOE Futures Exchange will be closed for trading on Monday—Thursday for 15 minutes between 3:15 pm CET and 3:30 pm CET.
