Credit default swap spreads on Western European sovereign debt tightened ahead of a Portuguese bond auction.

Credit default swap spreads on Western European sovereign debt tightened ahead of a Portuguese bond auction. Markit reported that its iTraxx SovX Western European Index narrowed 3.5 basis points to 170.5 bps after topping 180 bps for the first time early Tuesday.
