Hang Seng to rejig benchmark Hong Kong index

Hang Seng Indexes Co is planning to double the stocks in its flagship index, a move that will better represent the increasing number of Chinese companies on the bourse.

The eponymous Hang Seng Index tracks the performance of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s 50 largest stocks by market capitalisation. The index operator plans to boost that number to 80 by mid-2022 and ultimately fix it at 100.
