Ecopet to drill for debt, equity financing if ISA bid accepted

Colombian state-owned oil and gas company Ecopetrol said it would issue new debt and equity to fund a proposed takeover of the government’s 51.41% stake in conglomerate ISA (Interconexión Eléctria), should the finance ministry accept its offer.

Debt bankers covering Colombia have long kept an eye on ISA, which derives the bulk of its Ebitda from electricity transmission operations across Latin America, but also has road concessions and subsidiaries in information and communication technology.
