Canal+ Polska launches Warsaw IPO

Emerging market IPOs have been one of the hottest themes in EMEA equity capital markets this year and issuance is set to continue as Canal+ Polska, the Polish television network owned by French TV service Canal+, launched its IPO on Thursday.

Canal+ Polska is the largest premium pay-TV provider in Poland, and the second largest overall provider of pay-TV services in the country.

The sellers in the IPO are TVN Media, controlled by US firm Discovery, which owns 32% of the company, and Liberty Global, which holds 17%.
