Peter Thiel-backed Bridgetown Spac seals $550m US IPO

Blank check company Bridgetown Holdings, which is focused on southeast Asia, has raised $550m from a listing on the Nasdaq.

The issuer, a so-called special purpose acquisition company (Spac), is a collaboration between Thiel Capital, the investment firm of Peter Thiel, co-founder of payments giant PayPal and a prolific investor in startups, and Pacific Century Group.
