Grant Thornton joins Big Four in private debt

Grant Thornton LLP, the US affiliate of the international accounting firm, is raising money via the private placement market for the first time in almost 20 years, according to market sources. Grant Thornton LLP follows into the market the US arms of Deloitte, KPMG and PwC, who have each raised PPs in the past three months.

US Bank is arranging Grant Thornton’s deal, offering tenors of seven, 10 and 12 years. The initial target is $125m, according to several market sources. One private placement investor said price talk for the 10 year tranche is around 250bp over US Treasuries, which translates to a rough ...
