Privatbank battle adds new leg as IMF deal draws closer

Ukraine’s Privatbank saga has ratcheted up again as the lender filed a new claim, worth $5.5bn, against its former owners.

Privatbank’s claim, issued late on Friday, will seek to recoup damages from Igor Kolomoisky and Gennadiy Bogolyubov. The bank accuses the pair of running two schemes “bearing all the hallmarks of fraud and money laundering”.
