KKR says no to NMC Health takeover bid

US buyout group KKR has said it will not make a bid for the beleaguered UAE healthcare company NMC Health, dampening investor hopes of a rescue buyout and sending its shares and convertible bonds lower.

On Monday, NMC Health said it had received "highly preliminary" takeover approaches from KKR and GKSN Investment, a Switzerland based fund linked to Turkish businessman Kamel Ghibri.

But on Tuesday KKR dismissed the announcement.
