Euro SSA market reopens with a bang

The euro public sector bond market kicked off in style this week as investors put cash to work following a lack of supply in the fourth quarter of 2019, fuelling record book sizes and minimal concessions.

“Everybody is ignoring what is going on with the US and Iran,” said an SSA syndicate banker. “There’s no ‘fear premium’, with issuers pricing with flat to 1bp of concession and massively oversubscribed order books. Investors have a lot of cash and are buying everything.”
