HSBC promotes Elhedery and Guyett to lead GBM

HSBC has picked Georges Elhedery and Greg Guyett as co-heads of its global banking and markets (GBM) division, replacing Samir Assaf, who has been handed a new role as chair of corporate and institutional banking.

Assaf, whose departure from the post of GBM head had already been reported, will officially step down on March 1 next year.

His replacements are internal: Elhedery is head of global markets, while Guyett is head of global banking. Both will report directly to the group chief ...
