Afreximbank scores second Samurai loan

The dual currency $303m-equivalent loan, which marks Africa Export-Import Bank's (Afreximbank) second entry into the market, is the largest ever Samurai loan raised by an African issuer.

The loan is comprised of a $280m tranche and a ¥2.5bn ($23.5m) tranche and received participation from 11 banks. MUFG acted as sole arranger, bookrunner and facility agent on the loan.
