A director for responsible investment at a large asset manager has written to the CEO of the UK Debt Management Office pleading the case for the country to start issuing green bonds, as recommended by a government inquiry last year.
In a letter sent to Sir Robert Stheeman, CEO of the DMO, on Wednesday, Simon Bond, director, responsible investment portfolio management at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, wrote that "now is the opportune time to consider the issuance of green Gilts”, following the passing of a motion in the UK
